@bluefish: Most people bring their own tent or buy a pitched tent like here. Some people cook at the cooking areas (you are not allowed to cook where you camp because of the fire hazard). Otherwise there is a lot of different food stalls with great food at a sort-of decent price. When you get to Denmark you should see if you can get to one of the festivals. There is plenty all around the country.

Do people bring their own tent and cook there? I know a friend who went there too. How does the festival works?

All sounds great (except maybe the not showering for days ). The bands also sound awesome. Looking forward to my first festival, whenever than might be and to hearing soem good bands.

I was there in 96 also I never went back though, I think the whole camping and no decent shower style kind of turned me off

@Fisker: Yeah I think festivals are like that; either you love them or you hate them. 96 was a legendary year - to me at least, Psyched Up Janis opening and then the blast from Rage Against the Machine.

Personally I enjoy not showering for days, letting the beard grow and having all-day buzzes from wine from cartons and draft beers. Also the special atmosphere where everybody seems to be extra kind, patient and talkative is very inspiring.
