I think this was my 5th or 6th year at Roskilde Festival and this year was definitely one of the better ones. We had awesome weather, there was some great bands and some new discoveries and some well known artists that delivered more than expected.

My favourite concerts this year was probably Veto a fairly new Danish band (or new to me I should say).

The old rockn’roller Neil Young was amazing playing both his slow songs like Heart of Gold as well as the more energetic rock songs where the old man was jumping around on the stage. Rapper LOC on the picture above had a great show and loads of great songs.

Tina Dico and Teitur my two favourite singer/songwriters were both playing on Orange Stage, the biggest stage, which was not really a good choice in my opinion. However I enjoyed both concerts and they are both very skilled performers so they pulled it off in my opinion. Radiohead and Gnarls Barkley also had some enjoyable concerts.



I was at the festival for 9 days and lived in a tent which is always an interesting experience since the rest of the year I sleep with a roof over my head. Living outside you notice the clouds, winds, stars and birds a lot more. For the first time this year I stayed in the volunteers camping instead of amongst the commoners. Its a world of a difference. In the regular camping areas people live close, they put a lot of effort into their camps with flags, banners and even portable sound systems. However it also gets very dirty and a lot of places the party goes on all the night and I must admit that Ive gotten a bit older since I visited the festival the first time in 96. The coolest camp I came across this year was the cow camp.

Roskilde Festival, the biggest party in Denmark, is officially starting today. I came on Friday and has been working as an IT supporter until now. There has been plenty of stuff to do, see and drink already. The skaterpark has been going, the small Pavilion stage had some cool bands and there was a football between the crews where Kim Milton Nielsen refereed.

A couple of the bands im looking forward to see are Teitur, Tina Dico, Radiohead, Band of Horses, Joze Gonzarles, The Chemical Brothers, Neil Young, Gnarls Barkley, Cat Power, My Bloody Valentine & Jay-Z.

Min postnummer er 2000 og det har indtil videre været en god oplevelse at flytte til hovedstaden. Jeg har meldt mig ledig og skulle gerne få dagpenge fra fra slutningen af denne måned.

Imens jeg har været her i København har musikken især stået på Mikael Simpson, Love Shop og Jokeren – og det passer meget godt til byens stemning, sådan en sær blanding af det afslappede, poetiske og det fanden-i-voldske.

Roskilde var sjovt, men jeg tror jeg er ved at være blive for gammel til at holde festival en hel uge – eller også var det bare fordi jeg var ved at mættet for oplevelser. I hvert fald droppede jeg det meste af søndagens program, for at tage hjem for at sove.

Et par dage efter jeg var flyttet ind kom Alberto og Luiz fra Puerto Rico forbi, så jeg tog dem med rundt i byen og var rigtig turist. Her er lige en samling turistbilleder fra vores tur, I kender nok de fleste steder.

Magnus er blevet stor og snakker meget mere nu. Vi havde en sjov dag i går med fodbold og en tur til den lokale traktorhandler.

I aften er jeg på farten igen – Roskilde here I come! For 10 år siden var jeg på Roskilde for først gang, og det var så fedt at se Psyched Up Janis åbne foran en pakket Orange Scene. I år bliver min fjerde tur til Smatten og for en gangs skyld, ser det ud til at vi får godt vejr (7-9-13 og bank under bordet). Slænget jeg var med på den første tur er der stadig hvert år, så jeg glæder mig til at hænge ud med Rikke, Lene, Thomas og Ken igen. Her er de ved indgangen i 97.
